Polaroid Duochrome Film

I like film photography but lately I’ve felt like a huge hypocrite because I’ve been taking almost exclusively digital photos. Today I got an email from Polaroid (formerly The Impossible Project) advertising the return of Duochrome film in yellow and black. I got the email about mid-day today and 8 hours later, it’s completely sold out.

So why did it go so fast? Polaroid has created an instant film for vintage (or new) Polaroid cameras that shoots like black and white, but instead of the white, it’s a color. In this case, yellow. So the image is black and yellow. In the past they’ve introduced black and pink as well as black and blue (no pun intended!). It looks so fun to use, but I wouldn’t know, I’ve not tried it and can’t now that they’ve sold out.

If you were to do an image search of Polaroid Duochrome Film, you’ll see several images with this film and it’s just fun. I have a refrigerator full of film that needs to be used up, yet I would love to try out one of these fun colored instant films if I could ever find it in the future.

Maybe Polaroid will up their production…!
